Behind the Lens
This work started with a question I couldn't shake. After losing both of my grandpas, I found myself asking it over and over- why didn't I ask him while he was still here?
Years later, I watched my husband go through the same kind of loss, and it stuck with me. It made me realize how easily stories can slip away if we don't take time to hold onto them.
I grew up in an old farm family, working the dirt alongside my dad, surrounded by generations of history that didn't always get written down or talked about. But it was there- in the land, in the work, in the way of life.
Now I use photography to help families hold onto those things- the stories, the places, and the pieces of life that matter most before they are gone.
This isn't just photographs and written words. It's about making sure those stories aren't forgotten.
